  • Medicaid - DC
    DC Medicaid is a healthcare program that pays for medical services for qualified people. It helps pay for medical services for low-income and disabled people.

  • DC Health Care Alliance
    This program serves DC residents with no other insurance and who are not eligible for Medicaid or Medicare. Some of the services that DC Healthcare Alliance covers are doctor visits, preventive care (checkups, diet and nutrition), prenatal care (pregnancy), prescription drugs, laboratory services, medical supplies, and dental services up to $1000.

  • DC Healthy Families
    Provides free health insurance to DC residents who meet certain income and U.S. citizenship or eligible immigration status to qualify for DC Medicaid. This program covers doctor visits, vision and dental care, prescription drugs, hospital stays, and transportation for appointments. DC Healthy Families also offers special programs for newborn babies, children with disabilities or special health care needs, and people with HIV and AIDS.

    The Greater Washington, D.C. Emergency Services Directory is an online database of approximately 400 service providers of resources such as provisions in food emergencies and meals. To begin your search, go to this link and select the service(s) and region(s) of interest.

  • 2-1-1 Information and Referral Search
    2-1-1 provides free and confidential information and referral. Call 2-1-1 for help with food, housing, employment, health care, counseling and more. Learn more about your local 2-1-1 by looking it up here.

  • Children and Youth With Special Health Care Needs Resource Locator
    Comprehensive database of resources including child care and respite care, community support services, financial assistance, home care services, therapeutic services, transportation, and information on youth transition to adulthood.

  • DC Aging and Disability Resource Center
    The DC Office on Aging provides a single, coordinated system of information and access for individuals seeking long-term services and supports. This is accomplished through the provision of unbiased, reliable information, counseling, and service access to older adults (60 years and older), individuals with disabilities (18 to 59 years old), and their caregivers.

  • Eldercare Locator
    The Eldercare Locator is a public service of the U.S. Administration on Aging connecting persons to services for older adults and their families. They can also be reached at 1-800-677-1116.

  • Benefits CheckUp
    BenefitsCheckUp is a free service of the National Council on Aging (NCOA), a nonprofit service and advocacy organization in Washington, DC, to assist adults over 55 in finding federal, state and private benefits programs available to help with paying for prescription drugs, health care, utilities, and other basic needs. BenefitsCheckUp asks a series of questions to help identify available benefits and generates a report that describes the programs that may be able to help.

    The National Clearinghouse for Long-Term Care Information Website provides information and resources to help individuals plan for future long-term care.

  • Centers for Independent Living
    The website provides information and links to the Centers for Independent Living (CILS), nonresidential private nonprofit agencies that are designed and operated within a local community by individuals with disabilities and provide an array of independent living services.

  • Protection and Advocacy Agencies
    This page provides information and links to the 57 P&As across the United States that are dedicated to the ongoing fight for the personal and civil rights of individuals with developmental disabilities. P&As provide legal support to underserved populations to help them navigate the legal system to achieve resolution and encourage systems change.

    Federal government's website and resource for Alzheimer's and related dementias.

  • ARCH National Respite Network and Resource Center
    Respite is planned or emergency care provided to a child or adult with special needs in order to provide temporary relief to family caregivers who are caring for that child or adult.

  • Family Caregiver Alliance
    Family Caregiver Alliance is a public voice for caregivers. FCA supports and sustains caregivers with national, state, and local programs and resources such as National Center on Caregiving and Family Care Navigator. Services, education programs, and publications are developed with caregivers’ expressed needs in mind, to offer real support, essential information, and tools to manage the complex and demanding tasks of caregiving.

  • Shady Grove Pregnancy Center
    The Shady Grove Pregnancy Center offers a variety of services to anyone facing an unexpected, unplanned or unwanted pregnancy. This center offers pregnancy testing, pregnancy counseling, pregnancy classes, maternity and baby items, and counseling by volunteers trained in pregnancy counseling.
